The Vintners Foundation is preparing a number of initiatives focused on vineyard workers. To do so, they're compiling a list of Santa Barbara County vineyard management companies, as well as those who have their own crews. Contact Emily Byrum if you're unsure if you're on the list.
The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) released proposed regulations to amend Title 3, California Code of Regulations (3 CCR) section 6738.1. In summary, the proposed action will update and clarify chemical-resistant suit requirements and remove a duplicative and obsolete heat illness prevention requirement for employees who are required to wear chemical-resistant suits.
DPR has opened a public comment period on the proposed regulations through October 27, 2025. Comments may be submitted online through DPR's public comment portal SmartComment. Click here for proposed and recently adopted regulations.
2025 Pinot Noir Technical Symposium
April 16th, 2026
The Buellhouse at Zaca Creek Tavern
Open to production only. This will be a blind, technical tasting of 2025 (yes, this current vintage) Pinot Noir, grown in Santa Barbara County. Hosted by the Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance. Winemakers are encouraged to submit a sample (in March 2026) that will "teach something", so think of that as you're working experiments with this vintage. Will include lunch and a post-tasting dinner. If interested, email Karen at karen@vintegratedsolutions.com
